Marie Curie - 1867-1934 A Polish born chemist, Marie was the first person ever to receive two Nobel Prizes. In 1903 Curie, her husband Pierre and Henri Becquerel shared the Nobel Prize in physics for the discovery of the phenomenon of radioactivity. In 1911 Curie received the Nobel Prize in chemistry for the discovery of the radioactive elements of polonium and radium.
