Cardiac
Services
Thanks to charitable support, Bozeman Deaconess opened a $1.2 million, state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) in the spring of 2003. Doctors and technicians at the Cath Lab perform diagnostic procedures and offer treatment for several cardiac conditions. In addition to angiography—a diagnostic process in which dye is injected into the bloodstream so the heart and circulatory system can be viewed at work in live x-ray like images— many problem areas identified can now be treated. Stents, angioplasty, and atherectomy are among the treatment options now available.

Cardiac Health & Wellness Fund
As the No. 1 and No. 3 killers of women, heart disease and stroke are two of the many cardiovascular diseases that kill nearly 500,000 women each year. Fortunately, cardiovascular disease is mostly preventable, and the Bozeman Deaconess Cardiac Pulmonary Rehabilitation and Adult Health and Wellness Program can make a lifesaving difference to its participants. Contributions to this fund enable patients with limited resources to receive critical cardiac rehabilitation and support services.
Annual cost of providing service beyond that
which is reimbursed to hospital: $75,000. |

Hospice
Hospice is a special way of caring for the terminally ill and their families. Hospice’s
mission is to offer peace in Mind, Body, and Spirit by caring for the dying,
comforting the grieving, and educating the community. In addition
to comprehensive care, Hospice offers on-going bereavement support by specially
trained counselors to help families and individuals cope with grief and
loss. It is through charitable gifts that Hospice is able to provide
a quality end-of-life experience for patients and their families.
Each year Hospice depends on nearly $50,000 in
private donations. |
