Quality Achievement Award, 2009

Bozeman Deaconess received a 2009 Mountain-Pacific Quality Achievement Award, the highest award possible, at the Montana Hospital Association Annual Convention in Billings in September. The hospital was recognized for its commitment to ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care in certain areas.

Debra Gill
Debra Gill, FAHP, CFRE, MPA
Executive Vice President of Philanthropy
Debra joined Bozeman Deaconess Foundation when it was established in 1998. She has over twenty-five years of fund raising and management experience including work with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in Seattle Washington, the Montana State University Foundation and a number of other worthy organizations. She regularly coaches local non-profit organizations. A native Montanan, born and raised in Lewistown, Deb received her Bachelors degree in Speech Communication and Masters degree in Public Administration from MSU-Bozeman. She obtained CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) status in 2000 and became a Fellow with the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy in 2011. Deb currently serves as Board Chair for the Cancer Support Community - Montana. She has held leadership roles with the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Green Coat Ambassadors, Riverside Country Club Ladies Association, Rotary, and Bozeman Business and Professional Women (BPW). She was named Montana BPW Young Careerist of the Year in 1999, received the AHP Gerry Gunnin Professional Achievement Award in 2001 and the Bozeman Community Excellence Award in 2002. Debra’s husband Michael is the Assistant Director of Marketing for Bridger Bowl Ski Area and they have two children, Jessica and Tucker. Her hobbies include gardening, cooking and entertaining.
Crystal Leach, CFRE
Director of Development
Crystal joined Bozeman Deaconess Foundation in 2011. Since 2005 she worked for the Yellowstone Association and most recently served as their Director of Development. Prior to that, she worked several years for the National Park Service in Yellowstone National Park. She received her Bachelors degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Montana in Missoula. She obtained CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) status in 2011. Crystal’s husband Michael is a writer, speaker, guide, and Executive Director of a nonprofit organization called Yellowstone Country Guardians. They have a daughter named Kamiah. In her spare time, Crystal enjoys numerous outdoor activities, watching movies and sports, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Annual Giving Manager
Andrea joined Bozeman Deaconess Foundation in 2009. Also a Montana native, Andrea has worked as a professional fund raiser in Bozeman for five years. She received her Bachelors degree in English Literature from MSU-Bozeman. Andrea’s husband Tim is automotive technician at Bozeman Audi. They have a daughter, Elle. Her hobbies include spending time with her family and friends, cooking, gardening and curling up with a good book.

Development Associate
Ann has been with Bozeman Deaconess Foundation since 2002. Her responsibilities at the foundation include database management, prospect research, grant assistance, campaign support and coordination of the financial records. Another Montana native, she was born at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital and raised on a dairy farm just outside of Bozeman. Ann received her Bachelors degree in Business with a Marketing Option from MSU-Bozeman. Ann’s husband, Tom, is a principal architect at Insight Architecture, and they have a dog, Cinder. In her spare time, you’ll find her in the garden, taking long walks with her dog, or helping out at the family farm.
Joan Ferraro

Administrative Assistant
Joan joined Bozeman Deaconess Foundation in 2010. She specializes in gift processing and donor acknowledgment. Previously employed at Montana State University Foundation, Joan has over twenty years experience in non-profit accounting and financial management. She received a Bachelors degree in Business Management from MSU-Bozeman. Joan is married to Sandy Ferraro, a broker and former owner of RE/MAX Realty Group. They have two grown daughters, Rachel and Christina. Outside of work, Joan enjoys many activities including hiking, cross country skiing, volunteer work, dog walking, and being with family and friends.
